Coursework
I started my academic journey in the Educational Technology Program at the University of Hawaii at Manoa during the Summer of 2009 and am on my way to graduation in May 2012. During this time I took a variety of ETEC courses that brought a new light to my initial understanding of Educational Technology. With the diverse and forever changing technological advances, I felt that this program gave me a well-rounded view of ETEC, which encompasses designing Instruction, Assessing the needs of a system, Online and Distance Education, Research, and recognizing the appropriate tools to meet objectives, goals, and needs. In addition to fulfilling the Masters portion of the program, I decided to get a Certificate of Online Learning and Teaching (COLT), which required me to take certain ETEC courses. COLT gave me more insight to developing and delivering educational instruction in a variety of organizations. To see projects completed, refer to the drop down menu under "Course Work."

Graduate Assistantship
In addition to taking courses, I landed a Graduate assistantship with the School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene at UH Manoa. This gave me practical and hands-on experience with instructional design. I had the opportunity to work with faculty and staff, learn new technology skills, and support faculty and staff with online learning through a series of workshops I put on. It was a valuable experience that added so much to my educational career in the ETEC program and validated the knowledge I acquired.
